The Royal Wedding

My grandfather had nearly 1000 kgs of gold. He used to adminster the well being of the village where he lived. One day he was challenged by an army of over 100 men lead by someone who lived very far away......

This leader was hailed as a NOBLE MAN. He was stylish, classy and as polished as the well groomed celebrity today. He challenged my grandpa and wanted the gold. My grandpa said you can take it all if you really wish to rule the village. He said I will rule the village, but the gold will go back to his home... his people had the right over my grandpas gold.

My grandpa was confused. He was a simple man... yet he could understand logic using his good heart and common sense. He confronted the leader and asked him why should his people back home have the right over the gold he had to help his very own poor villagers. My grandpa strongly voiced his views "My gold for my people".

The leader asked my grandpa to surrender the gold or fight. My grandpa died a brave man... fought till his death. Now the gold went with the leader of the mob and the villagers went into penury.

The leader's grandson is marrying a girl.

Faraway, from the leader's town, there is some buzz about the grandson's marriage in my grandpa's village. The villagers have nothing to do with this. The village now has a new leader. He is classy stylish and shares a modern outlook. He speaks the same language as the leader who looted his village and looks down on people who cannot match his class. He has asked the villagers to celebrate the wedding of the grandson of the very NOBLE GENERAL who stole their gold and killed many of their OWN BLOOD. The villagers are innocent people.

They see no harm in celebrating ... even if it is a wedding associated with the LEADER, who is now hailed as the WELL ARTICULATED NOBLE MAN.

Moral. The villagers are either great forgiving souls or dumb people who do not see through this as a celebration of self inflicting insult.

Great coverage by Times Now. A tribute to our freedom fighters.
